Balneum Medicinal Bath Oil is a bath additive used for the treatment of dry skin disorders such as Eczema and Dermatitis. Balneum relieves symptoms associated with dry skin whilst also cleansing, and helping to protect against further drying. It contains Soya Oil, which is an emollient (moisturiser) which soothes and softens dry skin by helping to replace lost oils.

Balneum Bath Oil x 1000ml

Balneum Bath Oil contains soya oil. It is added to the bath water to moisturise dry skin. Balneum Bath Oil works by providing a layer of oil on the surface of the skin to prevent water evaporating from the skin surface. Moisturising bath oils are useful for dry skin conditions, such as eczema and dermatitis, which get worse when the skin is allowed to dry out. Used regularly, moisturisers and moisturising bath oils help restore the skin's smoothness, softness and flexibility by replacing lost moisture and helping the skin retain moisture. This helps reduce scaling, itching and redness. After using Balneum Bath Oil the skin should be patted rather than rubbed dry. In conditions such as eczema, using moisturisers and moisturising bath oils regularly, even once the skin has improved, can help prevent flare-ups.

Directions

Balneum Bath Oil x 1000ml

Dosage: Adults: for a full bath use 3 capfuls (20ml). Use 2-3 times weekly. Children: for a child's bath use one capful (5ml), for partial bath use half a capful (2.5ml). For babies and infants a daily bath is recommended.

Warnings

Balneum Bath Oil x 1000ml

Avoid contact of this medicine with the eyes. When using this preparation in the bath or shower take care to avoid slipping, especially when getting in or out, as this preparation may make the bath/shower more slippery than usual. This medicine is not to be taken by mouth. You should carefully read all product packaging and labels prior to use!

About the Brand

Balneum bath oil contains soya oil and is used to treat dry skin conditions. It is added to bath water to moisturise dry skin. It works by providing a layer of oil on the surface of the skin to prevent water evaporating from the skin surface. Dry skin results from lack of water in the outer layer of skin cells known as the stratum corneum. When this layer becomes dehydrated it loses its flexibility and becomes cracked, scaly and sometimes itchy. The stratum corneum contains natural water-holding substances that retain water seeping up from the deeper layers of the skin, and water is also normally retained in the stratum corneum by a surface film of natural oil (sebum) and broken-down skin cells, which slow down evaporation of water from the skin surface.

I bought the Balneum Bath Oil x 1000ml and it turned to be a great product. There are a few Bath & Shower products out there but I highly recommend Balneum . I found Balneum Bath Oil x 1000ml much cheaper on OneClickPharmacy and saved quite a bit.
