The Sea-Band Company was originally formed in the late eighties to manufacture and introduce to the market an acupressure wristband to help alleviate nausea and vomiting. The Sea-Band was invented by a doctor who applied the Chinese principle of acupressure, acupuncture without the needles, to the treatment of seasickness. This proved to work well and with the encouragement and support of Sea-Band Ltd, trials were carried out to test the Sea-Band for travel sickness and the treatment of nausea in pregnancy, post-operative surgery and chemotherapy.
