Canesten oral capsule contains the active ingredient fluconazole, which is an antifungal medicine used to treat infections with fungi and yeasts. Canesten oral capsule is an effective single dose treatment for vaginal thrush. It can also be used to treat men who are suffering from thrush on the penis.

Canesten oral capsule should be swallowed whole with a glass of water, either with or without food.

If symptoms persist for more than 7 days, see your doctor. Do not use if you are pregnant, trying for a baby or breast feeding. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any medicine other than the contraceptive pill and if you are aged under 16 or over 60.

About the Brand

Canesten is the market leader for treatment of dermatological and gynaecological fungal infections. As well as offering products to relieve infections like thrush and athletes foot, they also provide a range of feminine care products. Canesten contains the original active ingredient clotrimazol developed by Bayer. Clotrimazol was introduced into the market in 1973 world-wide and its effectiveness could not be reached by any other active ingredient yet. Today, clotrimazol is the best known active ingredient in topical antifungal therapy. Thrush is an infection caused by a yeast called Candida. This yeast normally lives in your body quite happily without doing you any harm. But when the natural pH balance of your vagina is upset - which can easily happen - Candida can multiply. And that's when you may start to itch and develop thrush.

I bought the Canesten Oral Capsule (Fluconazole) and it turned to be a great product. There are a few Feminine Health (Vaginal) products out there but I highly recommend Canesten . I found Canesten Oral Capsule (Fluconazole) much cheaper on OneClickPharmacy and saved quite a bit.
