Chlorhexidine gluconate is an antibacterial mouthwash. It reduces bacteria in the mouth. Chlorhexidine is used as an aid in the treatment and prevention of gingivitis, the maintainance of oral hygiene and inhibition of dental plaque formation Also for use in post-periodontal surgery regimes to promote gingival healing Useful in aphthous ulceration and oral candidal infections Adults and children: thoroughly rinse the mouth for about 1 minute with 10ml twice daily For gingivitis, use for one month For ulcers and candidal infections, use for 48 hours after the infection has cleared up. Chlorhexidine gluconate is used to treat gingivitis (swelling, redness, and bleeding of the gums). Chlorhexidine gluconate is usually prescribed by a dentist.

How Do I Use Chlorhexidine Mouth Wash: Do not swallow the chlorhexidine gluconate rinse. Swish it around your mouth and spit it out. Use chlorhexidine gluconate after brushing and flossing your teeth. Do not dilute the solution with water or any other liquid. Avoid eating, drinking, and rinsing your mouth for at least 1 hour after using chlorhexidine gluconate.

About the Brand

Chlorhexidine is a chemical antiseptic.[1] It kills (is bactericidal to) both gram-positive and gram-negative microbes, although it is less effective with some gram-negative microbes.[2] It is also bacteriostatic. The mechanism of action is membrane disruption, and not ATPase inactivation as previously thought.[3] It also shows activity with enveloped viruses, though this has not been extensively investigated. Products containing chlorhexidine in high concentrations must be kept away from eyes and the ears, due to the risk of damage to those organs. However, chlorhexidine is safely used in very low concentrations in some contact lens solutions.

I bought the Chlorhexidine Gluconate Antiseptic Peppermint Mouthwash - Corsodyl Alternative and it turned to be a great product. There are a few MouthWash products out there but I highly recommend Chlorhexidine . I found Chlorhexidine Gluconate Antiseptic Peppermint Mouthwash - Corsodyl Alternative much cheaper on OneClickPharmacy and saved quite a bit.
