Clinitas Ultra 3 Dry Eye
Clinitas Ultra3 Dry Eye
In addition to three blended polymers to address the aqueous and mucin layers it also contains a phospholipid.
Clinitas Ultra 3 is suitable for frequent or moderate conditions, which may also be persistent, caused by inadequate tear composition due to:
- Evaporative factors
- Low-blink rate activities - computer use, TV watching, driving
- Lachrymal insufficiency
How It Works?
The product is preserved with an effective antimicrobial and antifungal preservative, which has low corneal irritation. It is effectively buffered to maintain pH in the mid range making it suitable in the ocular environment. The viscosity is optimised so that the drop will be retained in the eye, without immediate run out but is not so thick that it blurs vision.
Clinitas Ultra 3 uniquely protects the corneal surface, delaying tear evaporation by restoring the critical lipid layer. It also hydrates the aqueous layer and stabilises the mucin layer.
The product contains two key components; three blended polymers and a proprietary phospholipid. Together the polymers have unique wetting properties with thermodynamic stability arising from high colloidal osmotic pressure (65mmHg). This, with the enhancement of the lipid layer allows rejuvenation of corneal epithelium, restoring a smooth surface for low friction blinking, which in turn improves blink rates. In addition it has been shown that the commonly assessed "tear break up time"(TBUT) is significantly prolonged (Pre, 7.5 /- 2.0 secs, Post, 12.5 /- 1.1 secs 66%)7 and above the threshold (10 secs) commonly accepted as delineating dry eye.
