Metanium Nappy Rash Ointment

Even the most absorbent nappy leaves some moisture on a baby's delicate new skin. A baby left in a dirty nappy for too long may also develop nappy rash. Nappy rash can appear on the bottoms of babies with particularly sensitive skin, even if the nappy is changed frequently.

The most common cause of nappy rash is from micro-organisms in baby’s faeces coming into contact with urine to produce ammonia. This causes a change in the pH levels of the skin and the resulting irritation which can lead to nappy rash. A baby’s skin is nearly half as thin as that of adults and therefore more delicate and prone to damage.

Metanium Ointment is specifically formulated to soothe and effectively treat nappy rash.

Metanium Ointment is a protective ointment that can be used at every nappy change, and especially at bedtime when your baby will not be changed for a while. Metanium Ointment rubs easily into the skin and creates a barrier between baby’s delicate skin and the irritants in urine and faeces, helping to treat and prevent nappy rash.  

Metanium Nappy Rash Ointment

Dab a small amount (pea size) of Metanium Nappy Rash Ointment onto the sore area. Spread the ointment thinly so the skin texture can be clearly seen through it (repeat at each nappy change).

Metanium Ointment contains the active ingredients: Titanium dioxide 20 %w/w, Titanium peroxide 5 %w/w and Titanium salicylate 3 %w/w.
 
Other ingredients: Dimethicone, Light Liquid Paraffin, Tincture of Benzoin and  White Soft Paraffin.
