Nicorette Step 1 (15mg Patches)
Nicorette Step 1 (15mg Patches):
The Nicorette Patch delivers a continuous, controlled dose of nicotine into your body to help relieve cravings and withdrawal symptoms. The nicotine is released through your skin over 16 hours. It is absorbed quite slowly compared to smoking a cigarette so you should be prepared to wait a little while longer for the nicotine to get into your system.
What happens when you quit?
- 20 minutes: Your blood pressure and pulse rate return to normal
- 8 hours: Oxygen levels in your blood return to normal.
- 24 hours: Carbon monoxide has been eliminated from your body. Your lungs start to clear out mucus and other smoking debris.
- 48 hours: There is no nicotine left in your body. Your ability to taste and smell is greatly improved.
- 72 hours: Breathing becomes easier. Your bronchial tubes begin to relax and your energy levels increase.
- 2-12 weeks: Circulation improves throughout the body, making walking and running a whole lot easier.
- 3-9 months: Coughs, wheezing and breathing problems get better as your lung function is increased by up to 10%.
- 5 years: Heart attack falls to about half that of a smoker.
- 10 years: Risk of lung cancer falls to half that of a smoker. Risk of heart attack falls to same as someone who has never smoked.
Stop Smoking Tips:
If you feel the need for inspiration remember Nicorette is here to help. We know how difficult it is to quit smoking so we have put together some tips from other smokers who have successfully quit.
Willpower and control - Take control
Use your willpower and ask yourself, “How much do I really need this cigarette?” Remind yourself of all the reasons you decided to stop smoking in the first place. Do you really want to throw all your hard work away now that you’ve got this far?
If at first you don’t succeed...
Relapses can happen, so don’t despair. Many ex-smokers usually try several times before being successful. Think of your relapse as a temporary set back, rather than a failure. Use the experience and learn from it so that next time you won’t be tempted again.
Your determination is the key to success!!!
