Niquitin Cq 2mg Gum Mint:
NiQuitin Gum allows you to manage your cravings as they happen – and you never know when or where they’ll pop up! They are an alternative format to Lozenges.
If you normally have your first cigarette within 30 minutes of waking up, you’ll need NiQuitin 4mg Mint Gum. If you tend to start smoking more than 30 minutes after waking, use NiQuitin 2mg Mint Gum.
To begin with, chew one piece of gum whenever you have the urge to smoke (you should start with between 8 and 12 pieces a day).
You should then be able to reduce the number of pieces you use gradually, to just one or two pieces a day.
Following the step-down programme in this way will let you gradually wean yourself off nicotine so you can quit for good.
If you’re not ready to give up smoking straightaway you can also take NiQuitin Gum to help you cut down before stopping completely.
Dosage for adult smokers 18 years or over:
- Step 1: One gum when urge to smoke, take 8-12 gums per day (maximum 15) for 3 months.
- Step2: Gradual reduction to 1-2 gums per day when use should be stopped.
- Step 3: Occasional use if urge to smoke returns. The chewing gum should be chewed according to the 'chew and rest' technique described on the pack for 30 minutes.
- Under 18 years: not to be used.
Common Query: What if I slip up and have a cigarette?
Don’t worry – it happens. If you've just had one or two, it's not the end of the world and you haven't necessarily erased the health benefits you've already gained by stopping smoking. After a slip up, the first thing to do is throw out all your cigarettes – then forgive yourself and get right back on track. Don't beat yourself up about it, and don’t discard your NiQuitin in a panic – you need them now more than ever.
If you've been smoking regularly again, don't be too hard on yourself either. You've learned about what works and what doesn't, and with that knowledge, you’re more likely to be successful next time.
