To create tight and defined curls ensure the hair is dry and combed through. Separate a small section of hair. Hold the curling tong horizontally. Press the thumb rest and place the end of the hair section under the lever, towards the cool tip. Release the lever to secure the section of hair. To avoid crimped ends, ensure the ends of the hair are securely wound under the lever in the direction of the desired curl.

Roll the curling tong upwards, winding the hair around the barrel and as far up the hair section as desired. Wind the hair around the barrel at a slight angle, so the hair wraps around the barrel in a spiral motion. As you wind the hair around the barrel, ensure the hair is distributed evenly across the barrel, so that the entire hair section is touching the barrel to heat the hair and form a curl. The swivel cord will prevent cord tangles as you do this. Hold the styler in place for 10 to 15 seconds, depending on the length and texture of the hair. To remove, roll the curling tong downwards, unwinding the hair from around the barrel, and press the thumb rest to release the hair section.
